Ametop Anaesthetic Gel
AMETOP® Gel 4% is a topical local anaesthetic containing tetracaine, designed to temporarily numb intact skin before procedures such as venepuncture and venous cannulation. The gel is applied to the skin and covered with an occlusive dressing, with effective local anaesthesia typically achieved after 30 minutes for venepuncture and 45 minutes for venous cannulation. Each 1.5 g tube contains 40 mg of tetracaine per gram of gel.
