Innovation in Focus: NanoKnife IRE at King’s College Hospital

Innovation continues to transform cancer care, with minimally invasive technologies playing an increasingly important role in treatment pathways. Dr Praveen Peddu of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has shared his insights into the use of NanoKnife irreversible electroporation (IRE) technology from AngioDynamics International and its expanding application in cancer treatment.

NanoKnife IRE is a non-thermal ablation technology that can be used in selected cases of prostate cancer. It is designed to target tumours whilst preserving surrounding structures, with the aim of helping to maintain sexual function and urinary continence.

In the video, Dr Peddu discusses how innovation, precision and a patient-first approach are helping to advance interventional oncology. He also highlights the expertise and collaboration required to drive progress in this rapidly evolving clinical field.
