HC21 UK Hosts Interactive Bioskills Cadaver Labs at Royal Free Hospital

HC21 UK recently welcomed delegates to the Royal Free Hospital, London, for two interactive Bioskills Cadaver Labs in breast reconstruction and abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR).

Day one focused on breast reconstruction, with sessions covering pre-pectoral and sub-pectoral implant techniques, lipofilling as an adjunct to reconstruction, symmetrising surgery, and the management of complications including infected or exposed implants. Delegates then took part in a hands-on cadaver lab covering mastectomy marking, pocket dissection, ADM (Artia) placement and lipofilling techniques.

Day two covered AWR, exploring posterior component separation, biological mesh integration, small-bite fascial closure techniques and the role of negative pressure wound therapy in reducing complications, alongside an interactive discussion of delegate cases. The afternoon cadaver lab covered abdominoplasty, retro-muscular (Rives-Stoppa) repair and midline closure using the SutureTool device.
